Fountain Inn Hosts Special Veteran’s Day Lunch to Honor Local Heroes

In a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country, The City of Fountain Inn is proud to host it’s twelfth annual Veteran’s Day Lunch at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8th, 2024 at the City of Fountain Inn’s Activities Center. The center is located at 610 Fairview Street. With keynote speaker Jim Kvam, Immediate Past Commander of the American Legion Department of South Carolina. The introduction of keynote will be Jim Jarvis, Past Legion Department Commander.

Additional speakers include Fountain Inn Mayor GP McLeer and SC Represen-tative Mark Willis from District 16.

We are also honored to have Phillip Serpentauski, Commander Post 123, Robert Delgado, Adjutant Post 123, la-dies from Auxiliary Unit 123, and Rev. Sam Flint of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Kin Hinkle, Upstate SC Quilts of Val-or Coordinator will present Quilts of Valor to seven recipients.

Afterwards, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with fellow veterans, share their stories, and enjoy a complimentary BBQ lunch provided by Big D’s Catering and Dessert provided by The Mill at Fountain Inn.to four recipients. American Legion Post 271 will post and retire the colors, and Scott McCrary will play taps.

Simpsonville

Simpsonville May-or Paul Shewmaker will serve as Master of Cere-monies for the Veterans Day Ceremony. The event will take place at the Arts Center Auditorium at 11 am on November 11.
