Elisha Sellers, Jr, will celebrate his 100th birthday on October 20, 2024. Mr. Sellers was born in 1924, in Southport, NC. He is a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, serving in the Coast Guard and the Navy. Mr. Sellers worked for The News Reporter in Whiteville, NC, for close to 60 years, where he was the production manager. He has been a ham radio operator for 70+ years and still talks to many “hams” in the area. He was married to Mary Williams Sellers for 58 years until her death in 2005. Mr. Sellers has two children, Linda Hodges of Simpsonville, and Mike Baker of Barnesville, Ga., and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Many friends and relatives from across the southeast plan to celebrate with Mr. Sellers at his daughter and son-in-law’s home in Simpsonville on October 12. He has another birthday celebration at the Sellers family reunion in Supply, NC, on October 19, as well as a weekend at Oak Island with most of his family planned.●
