STREET SURVIVAL TACTICS

S888-1.jpgStreet Survivors, welcome back and trust that your family is safe and continuing to train.

We’ve discussed a lot about preparing your home for better security and how to protect yourself on the street and in your vehicle.  In this article we’re looking at some of the other places where you spend the majority of your day, to see if you’re paying attention to your surroundings and have an emergency plan for your work, school, gym, grocery store, and common travel routes.

Human beings are creatures of habit and we often create routines that drive where we go and how we get there. That’s not always a good thing if somebody on the dark side is trying to figure out your routine.  When possible shake things up a little, and take different routes to your favorite hangouts.  Plan your vehicle gas fill-ups so you’re not running on an empty tank at midnight, and having to stop under the worst conditions possible.

Evaluate your typical day and where you go, looking at it with a critical eye toward security and escape.  Imagine being at your regular grocery store and an active shooter situation occurs!  Do you know where the exits are and how to quickly gather your family and get there? If you’re picking up your child at school and the emergency fire alarm goes off, what do you do?  Second guessing yourself like this will keep you sharp and help your brain jump into high gear should something unexpected like that ever happen.

True story:  The local church we used to attend was in the beginning of the first service of the day, when one of the staff noticed a man getting out of his truck with a shotgun and heading toward the main entrance.  This alert staff member secured the doors and notified the rest of the staff, also calling 911.  The man was the ex-husband of a woman attending the service with his children and this could have ended badly.  When he couldn’t get in the doors, he sat down under a tree and the police showed up shortly thereafter.  These situations cannot be anticipated, but we still must prepare for the unknown and unexpected. So please, take this seriously and look at your day from a different perspective.

Rick ‘Pirate Hunter’ Grover strongly believes we’re all in this together, and the more we learn and train, the better we’ll be prepared for any eventuality. This makes all of us part of an amazing neighborhood team of American Patriots. God Bless America !  Drop us a comment or question at email: StreeTactics@gmail.com
