If you live within the City limits of Mauldin, Simpsonville, or Fountain Inn, and have ever considered running for City Council, now through noon on Tuesday, August 15th is the time to sign up and have your name put on the ballot for the election.  

Election Day is Tuesday, November 7th.

In Mauldin, City Council Seats 2, 4, 6, and the Mayor will be on the ballot.  When you run for office, you must state which Seat you are running for.  Voting for all Mauldin City Council Seats is City-wide; there are no wards.  The cost is only $100.  See https://cityofmauldin.org/ for more information.

In Simpsonville and Fountain Inn, by contrast, each City Council Seat represents a particular ward – a particular section of the City.  Candidates must reside in the ward which they sign up to represent.  The cost is $300, and running for Mayor costs $480.

Elections in Simpsonville will be held for City Council Seats for the Mayor and wards 1, 3, and 5.  See https://www.simpsonville.com for more information.

In Fountain Inn, the ballot will include candidates for Mayor and for City Council seats for wards 2, 4, and 6.  The cost is $100.  See https://www.fountaininn.org for more information.

Voting for all City Council Seats is City-wide.
