With this unusual 6 inch snow in the Upstate of South Carolina our community certainly came out to enjoy the weather! People were sledding, building snowmen, having snowball battles, and taking pictures of their beautiful snow covered lawns and yards! Walking and talking and visiting with neighbors as the snow came down made the whole event so much fun! At Solid Rock Stables the riders and horses certainly enjoyed this winter wonderland! The scenery was majestic in its blanket of white!! Take a look at what our beautiful community had to offer during this special weather treat!

We were sorry to hear the reports power outages that made many citizens uncomfortable during this event. Many were unable to get to work and several businesses were forced to close. We wish them well in their recovery.

The snowfall blanketed the upstate with 5 to 8 inches of snow in many places. Originally it was feared that that an ice storm was going to hit below I 85, but the weather cooled fast enough for it to come down as all snow. We dodged that bullet. For most of the upstate. It was an enjoyable couple of days of snuggling in with family and friends and enjoying the beautiful white blanket of snow.

In other weather related news, the original prediction of more snow Thursday and Friday was canceled and became an all rain event. Thank goodness.■
