Flying for the Fun of It – Aviation Training and Careers

S1301-1.jpgThe Triple Tree Aerodrome recently held its 2026 “AviCom” – a half-day seminar for high school students hoping to make a career in the aviation industry.

S1301-2.jpgSeveral dozen students attended, from eight South Carolina high schools:  the Academy for the Arts, Science & Technology in Myrtle Beach; the Academic Magnet High School in North Charleston; the Advantage Academy in Florence; the Blue Ridge High School in Greer; the Byrnes High School in Duncan; the CTE Innovation Center in Greenville; the Greenville Technical Charter High School in Greenville; the Lexington High School in Lexington.

Several of the students live in the Mauldin – Simpsonville – Fountain Inn area.

Each student went through several assignments while at Triple Tree.  It was a busy morning, and actually ran over the expected completion time by almost an hour.

S1301-3.jpgS1301-4.jpgStudents showed interests in a variety of Aviation-oriented careers, including professional piloting, engineering, design, and more.  All of the students worked hard throughout the morning’s classes, wasting no time, and clearly made the most of the time to learn the material which was presented.

High school teachers also attended, assuring that support for the students in pursuing their goals will be continued back in their regular classrooms.

Triple Tree’s dedication to making a substantial difference to the students’ knowledge and direction for the future was abundantly obvious.

Anyone who knows of high schoolers potentially interested in a career in aviation should contact the school and urge them to get involved with Triple Tree’s future AviComs.
