Hi, Friends of the McCullough House!

Good news! We are thrilled to announce that Fork Shoals Historical Society has received a $25,000 grant from the Pellett Trust in Greenville to be used as a matching fund raiser to reach $50,000 toward the reconstruction of the kitchen building!  This will be a great start toward the goal of $250,000 to finish that project. 

Please consider helping us meet this generous match!  We are hoping that we can take this step toward completing the structures, and we are so grateful to all who have supported us so far.  What a blessing you have all been, and Fork Shoals thanks you everyone, those who have given to the windows (which are ready to go in at the appropriate time), and those who give every year, and now, especially the Pelletts!

 Fork Shoals Historical Society is excited about the work going on raising the porches on the front and rear of the McCullough House.  The front porch is a double decked entrance porch in the manner of Federal houses of the early 1800s, while the structure to the rear is one level with a shed roof extending the length of the house.  The front porch flooring was applied and was painted brown this week.  This structure has already changed the looks of the house immensely!  The new roof can go on when these are completed.
