The festive mood at our December meeting started with Lorraine Baxter ‘s seasonal display in our four pots at the entrance to the Mauldin Cultural Center. We continued to celebrate with Sandra Puzsik’s amazing lunch of ham and pineapple sauce, turkey and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potato casserole, and dinner rolls. The display of desserts featured a stunning spice cake that tasted as good as it looked. When Sandra is catering- expect magic!

We had a surprise visitor, and it wasn’t Santa! Bob Gecy, the Publisher/Editor of The Simpsonville Sentinel, dropped in to wish us all a Merry Christmas. We appreciate his support of local garden clubs and of the activities of the Greenville Council of Garden Clubs. He left some complimentary December issues of the paper for our members to read and enjoy.

Bingo was so popular at last year’s party that we had our second annual Bingo Blast! Members carried home prizes such as Poinsettias, colorful Kalanchoes, and gardening books.

January will be a good time for some of us to re-think our home garden spaces. Some plantssuffered from the loss of shade and increased sun exposure due to tree loss from Hurricane Helene. Another fun winter project is planning the garden of our dreams-will it be an herb garden, scent garden, or moon garden?

Garden Club will hear master gardener, Pam Brightman, speak on “Sheer Madness”, to prune ornot to prune. Visitors are welcome!
