Street Survival Tactics

Street Survival Tactics

S1163-1.jpgS1163-2.jpgThis month’s column comes on the tragic one-year anniversary of my beautiful wife Debby’s passing last November 5th. As you can imagine this has been the most difficult year my family has ever faced and many of you may have experienced a similar loss and the intense grief that follows. As a Christian family we hold tightly to the knowledge that we will be reunited at a time of God’s choosing. I cherish every moment we shared together in our 42 years of marriage, and every moment eternity will provide, but this in between time is nevertheless exceedingly difficult.

During the years of writing this column we have discussed so many facets of personal and home security, but we never touched on the spiritual side. As we look around the world in 2025, we witness no shortage of evil on the local, national, and global stage. There can be no doubt in any reasonable person’s mind that both good and evil exist and the battle between them is a brutal one at times.

S1163-3.jpgS1163-4.jpgAs I am not a biblical scholar, pastor, or rabbi, I can only attest to my individual experiences with God and how much my life and my future security have changed because of it. I am planning a trip to Israel in the Spring of 2026 to expand my understanding of the holy land, but one of the many incredible things about God is you do not have to be in any specific geography to meet him. He will meet you where you are, regardless of your career, accomplishments, size of your bank account or level of education. The sacrifice of the cross of Jesus to erase our sins and make us right before God are available to all. None of us are even close to perfect but realizing that and understanding that sin is a part of our life that must be repented of, is the key to opening the door to Christ and having our present and our future changed for eternity. I pray that you and your family will seek this spiritual security even more intensely than you seek physical and financial security in this life. Both are important, but the spiritual side is vastly more critical and the most important single decision a human being can ever make. Thank you for letting me share my heart and soul at this painful time. I have kept this column short so that I might add a few photos in honor of Debby.

Rick ‘Pirate Hunter’ Grover strongly believes we are all in this together, and the more we learn and train, the better we will be prepared for any eventuality. This makes all of us part of an amazing neighborhood team of American Patriots.

God Bless America!
