Alan is the Son of Joan Therrell Dabney and Herman E. Dabney Jr. 

Lives in Mauldin and married to Carla Moore Dabney since 1983. They have three grown children, Danielle Harmon, Lindsay Bridges, Aaron Dabney, and six grandsons: Cole, Levi, Benjamin, Lucas, Jacob, and Pierce.

Born into the Army at Fort Bragg to a Vietnam soldier – July 1965, 

7th generation soldier – back to American Revolution, Catawba  Indian Scout

Master Sergeant, Retired, 21 yrs Active Duty Army (AGR) and 12 yrs M-Day soldier in the South Carolina Army National Guard

Signal Battalion S3 Operations/Training, COMSEC Custodian, Readiness NCO. Deployments to: Belize, Egypt, Iraq/Kuwait, S. Korea .Retired in October 2017, Govt contractor/ advisor, June 2018 – August 2019Appointed as Greenville County Service Officer in August 2019

"The best of my military service were the tremendous friends I made and the incredible locations I was able to visit.

I saw the Egyptian pyramids, Mayan pyramids, the ziggurat in Ur, Iraq, the wide-open terrain of Arizona, the pier at Long Beach California, and ice-covered mountains in Alaska and Germany. 

I have always been proud of my Native American heritage and proud of my service to my country. I am equally happy to be able to assist Veterans with their disability needs and offer resources through our community partners. Therapy for me has long been outdoors. I enjoy hunting, fishing, birding, or just being outdoors".
