Simpsonville Boy Scout Troop 159 announces that they will be holding a 75th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, September 27th, starting at 2pm.  The event will be held in the fellowship hall of Mauldin First Baptist Church.  The Troop is looking for former members, scouts, leaders, and scouts’ parents that would be interested in attending.  The troop has been going strong since 1950, and has been sponsored for many years by Simpsonville United Methodist Church, but is now sponsored by the Golden Strip VFW Post 1845.  This will be Troop’s first celebration gathering since their 50th Anniversary held in 2000.  

The troop proudly displays the names of all 120 EAGLE Scouts on the sides of their troop trailer, so it is easily recognizable when you see it around town!  There will be a special recognition for all Eagles during the ceremony portion of the celebration as well! 

There will be many displays of old troop photos & memorabilia, a unique patch banner of nearly 700 patches depicting the activities of the troop and locations they have visited over the past years, and scout memorabilia collections of the current scouts for all to view.
