Iran – Tempest in a Teacup

If you follow the news at all, you have been seeing a series of events which can only be labelled as “Iran’s folly”.

What has happened?  In short:

(1) Israel fighter-bomber jets destroyed the Iranian sites that were being used to develop missiles and nuclear weapons.

(2) Iran fired hundreds of missiles into Israel, most of which were shot down by Israel and by an American destroyer located in the eastern Mediterranean Sea just off Israel’s coast.

(3) The U.S., which has a mutual defense treaty with Israel, did something Israel could not:  It dropped several 30,000-pound “bunker-buster” bombs on each of the Iranian nuclear weapons locations.  The bombs are so big that only the U.S. B-2 bomber can carry them.  Each B-2 carried two bunker-buster bombs.  Seven B-2 bombers flew from Missouri non-stop to drop fourteen bombs and then flew home.  Satellite photos show that all of Iran’s nuclear sites have been reduced to rubble.

(4) Iran shot fourteen missiles (the same number as the number of bunker-buster bombs dropped by the U.S.) at a U.S. military base in Qatar.  Qatar’s missile defenses – not U.S. missile defenses – shot down all fourteen Iranian missiles.

If you want to look like an impotent, way-outgunned, and ineffective country’s leadership, take lessons from the Iranian dictators.

But there is more:  apparently credible reports indicate that Iran’s leader Ali Khamenei and other senior officials of the Iranian dictatorship are preparing to flee Iran with their families.
