Simpsonville, S.C. — The City of Simpsonville will host its annual Simpsonville Memorial Day Ceremony on May 26 at 11 a.m. at the Simpsonville Arts Center.

The keynote speaker for the ceremony will be Sgt. John Salinas of the SC State Guard who also works for a blood donation organization OneBlood. Sgt. Salinas will talk about the recent lifting of certain restrictions on donating blood that for decades prevent many veterans from donating blood.

“Simpsonville is a very patriotic community that understands the importance of remembering and honoring those men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their country,” Shewmaker said. “We invite the public to join us in memorializing once again the bravery and courage of these heroes.”

The Simpsonville Memorial Day Ceremony will also include a special announcement about an additional program that further celebrates the rich military heritage of the community.●
