The big question that I hear from Buyers in our area is “Do you think home prices will drop soon?” The answer is NO! Here’s what you should know: Homeownership is a long-term investment, and every day you wait, homes become more expensive. Experts predict home prices will rise by 3-4% annually over the next five years. 

The good news is, while prices are expected to increase, they won’t climb as dramatically as they have in recent years. By buying now, you not only lock in today’s prices but also put yourself in a position to start building equity. Trying to time the market rarely works. 

If you’re in the position to buy but are waiting to see what happens with prices or mortgage rates, ask yourself: is it more important to wait for the "perfect" moment, or to get ahead now?
