On May 5, the Hillcrest High School golf team met at Legacy Pines, for the South Carolina region one golf tournament. The tournament was hosted by J L Mann. Regional teams included Hillcrest, JL Mann, TL Hannah, Mauldin, and Woodmont High Schools. Hillcrest pulled off the upset after being ranked third and fourth at one time in the region. Hillcrest finished with a total of 304, Mauldin 314, JL Mann, 320, TL Hannah 325 and Woodmont 382. Hillcrest individual scores were as follows; Jacob Hoyle 74, Cameron Baldwin 73, Dalton Younts 77, Asa Belile 80, and Will Armstrong shot an 85. Cameron Baldwin and Major Lenning of Mauldin were tied at 73 four Low Medalist. Cameron won on the 2nd hole of the playoff. 

The following players were named to the All-Region team; Cameron Baldwin of Hillcrest 73, Major Lenning of Mauldin 73, John Quarterman of TL Hanna 75,

Jacob Hoyle of Hillcrest 74, Dalton Younts of Hillcrest 77, and Larson Hill of JL Mann 78.

Hillcrest seniors are Jacob, Cameron, Dalton, Asa and Will is an 8th grader.

Hillcrest is coached by Joe Younts. This is his 1st year as head coach after spending three years as the JV coach. Coach Younts also received coach of the year for Region One. The Assistant Coach for Hillcrest is Jay Thomason

Hillcrest competed in Upper State tournament on Monday, May 10 finishing 6th and qualifying for the State tournament on Monday, May 17 and Tuesday May 18 at the County Club of South Carolina in Florence.

Two of the Hillcrest golfers signed letters of intent to play college golf. Cameron Baldwin signed with Lander college and Dalton Younts signed with St. Andrews University.
