Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Triumph Stadium

Mauldin’s BridgeWay Station hosted a special Groundbreaking ceremony on March 12th, as the inaugural event for the next phase of its development:  The Triumph Stadium.

BridgeWay’s Triumph Stadium will host the Greenville Triumph men’s soccer team and the Liberty women’s soccer team, as well as high school games, concerts, and other events that draw large numbers of crowds, not only to the stadium but to businesses in BridgeWay Station and Mauldin generally.

International soccer star Ronaldinho Assis, a part-owner of the Greenville Triumph team, was clearly the biggest attraction for many in the audience, who cheered his arrival along with the Greenville Triumph players, chanted his name, and asked for his autograph.

Members of both the Triumph team and the Liberty team were present for the ceremony, as were Mauldin City Council members Taft Matney, Frank Allgood, and Mark Steenback, and City Administrator Seth Duncan.●
