Column: Inn the Know... from the Desk of Shawn Bell

S340-1.jpgThe City of Fountain Inn is committed to ensuring that our small businesses thrive. This year, we have launched a series of grants to ensure that our local mom-and-pop businesses can recover and be positioned better for the future.

I am excited to announce that the City of Fountain Inn and CommunityWorks have partnered to create the City of Fountain Inn Relaunch Grant Program. This program will allow eligible for-profit and non-profit businesses to apply for up to a $5,000 grant to support business pivots, working capital, rent and mortgage, inventory, utilities, infrastructure development, COVID-19 related marketing expenses, PPE, and more. Businesses and nonprofits must be located within the city limits of Fountain Inn, have ten or fewer employees, and meet several other qualifications, which can be found on the CommunityWorks website. (https://communityworkscarolina.org/lending/covid-relief/#local-relief)

We hope that the small businesses throughout our city will take advantage of this grant and the other grants the city has made available to them.

The following grants are available to all commercial properties in the Main Street Program area:

Outdoor Expansion and Beautification Grant: The grant provides up to 50% of project costs up to $20,000 in fund reimbursement to commercial properties within the Fountain Inn Main Street Program Area with infrastructure expenses to expand or beautify outdoor space intended for public use.

Façade Improvement Grant: This grant provides up to 50% of project costs up to $10,000 in the fund reimbursement to commercial properties within the Fountain Inn Main Street Program Area to restore or improve to build Facades.

Outdoor Seating and Accessories Grant: This grant provides up to 75% of project costs up to $4,000 in fund reimbursement to commercial properties within the Fountain Inn Main Street Program Area to create vibrant outdoor areas.
